Blacksmithing 101

A hands-on half day (4+/- hours) introductory blacksmithing class in the Iron Grove Tool Co. shop focusing on the basic elements of forging steel.
 
We'll discuss shop safety, equipment usage and basic metal-movement principles before forging several decoravtive and functional pieces from available steel, demonstrating a variety of blacksmithing techniques. There is no time limit to the class, we go until we finish.
 
All tools, materials and safety equipment will be provided.
The student(s) will leave with their own small sculptural piece made during the class. Contact the shop to schedule.
